Aveeno Tinted Moisturizer Review - Not What I expected

I sometimes use tinted moisturizers on my face, so when I got to the moisturizing aisle of my favorite drug store and spotted the Aveeno Positively radiant tinted moisturizer, I had to give it a try.

But let me just say, it's not at all what I expected!

First of all it was in a tiny 2.5 fl ounces bottle with no other sizes available. I remember thinking, "Wow, you don't get much" and for $14 a bottle, which is what I paid.

But I'm a skin care enthusiast so I bought it.

When I got home I was dying to try it. I ripped it out of package and squirted it into my hand. Right at that moment I realized this wasn't your normal tinted moisturized.

Most tinted moisturizers are basically regular clear moisturizing lotion that goes on your skin clear and tints your skin over a few hours of time.

The Aveeno tinted moisturizer is not like that. It's the color and consistency of liquid makeup. Huh? That's not what I expected at all. In fact as I began to smooth it over my face it went on very similar to a liquid makeup. Still not really feeling sure about this.

However as I began to smooth on my face, I actually liked how it made my skin look and feel, a little surprising!

It didn't give me a tan look or tint my skin, instead it blended the flaws and imperfections on my cheeks nicely. My skin actually looked radiant and very natural. The product has an SPF of 30 so I've been actually using it every day after cleansing my face in the morning.

I've got to say my skin does look beautifully smooth which isn't something easily attained for me. I've tried tons of different makeups but this does a better job than any of them, surprisingly enough. It covered up the blotches and freckles that I have which I love.

I simply smoothed on the Aveeno tinted moisturizer and put my blusher on over it. This facial moisturizer is more of a natural light reflecting lotion that blends away imperfections and gives you a temporary smooth glow. It washes off when cleansing and leaves no tinting.

The Aveeno Tinted Moisturizer is not a sunless tanning product. This is like a makeup that gives you a hint of color while blending and smoothing your complexion evenly and it's oil free. It won't give you an oily look.

I have not tried any of the mineral makeups that are on the market today, but I suspect that since the Aveeno tinted moisturizer has natural light reflecting minerals with a soy base complex, it may be very similar in the look you'll get from using mineral makeup.

I happened to buy the medium sheer tint of the Aveeno tinted moisturizer, but it comes in a light tint as well. My skin is fair to medium and it blended perfectly on my skin.

If your looking for a facial moisturizer that tints your skin, this is not it. But if you want a smooth, natural look that gives you a healthy glow, I think you'll like this moisturizer.

 For something that didn't impress me at first, the Aveeno tinted moisturizer gets my thumbs up. My skin looks and feels smooth and soft and I use it every day :-)
