Essential Natural Face Oils

These essential oils for the face are favorites of some of the world's renown skin experts and I have to say, they've become my favorites as well! They are all excellent moisturizers as well.

Many of these oils are found in homemade facial recipes as well and in beauty spa facial preparations, and as ingredients in many beauty creams.

By the way, these are all found at health food stores which will be your best bargain buy as well.

Sweet Almond Oil

This is an extremely absorbent oil that is not only a wonderful moisturizer it has properties that calm your skin. This oil is also perfect for use after waxing, shaving or anything that has been irritating to your skin.

Avocado Oil

Avocado oil is a moisturizing and nourishing essential oil that has rich penetration qualities. It's rich in vitamin A, C, D, E.  It softens and protects and is recommended for mature and dry skin.

Lavender Oil

Lavender is probably my favorite of all the essential oils. It's very a very soothing and comforting oil. If you've ever had a quality massage you've probably noticed they use lots of lavender. Lavender also dries up pimples and is often used for aromatherapy.

Rose hip Seed Oil

This oil is produced in Chile. It is extracted from seeds of a rosebush which grows wild in the southern Andes. Rose Hip Seed Oil ( Rosa Mosqueta). Rose hip Oil has a short surface time on the skin which means that is absorbed fast and leaves no fatty residue which makes it perfect as a face oils and cell regeneration.

Kalaya Oil

Also known as Emu oil. Emu oil is very soothing for scars and makes the skin very smooth. It works by holding in your skin's moisture and can also help your skin cells rejuvenate. In fact dermatologists have recommended it for areas that have had skin grafts for reducing pain and speeding the healing process.

It has also been known to reduce the dehydrating effects of the sun if applied before getting sun exposure, additionally blistered and peeling sun exposed skin is significantly relieved when using Kalaya oil. However Kalaya oil is not a sunscreen.

Evening Primrose oil

This oil has often been used in treatment of eczema which is dry, itchy, scaly skin and has a rich content of fatty acids. Evening primrose oil has claimed a lot of so called healing properties for women however none of them are medially conclusive. However for your dry, scaly skin it can moisturize and protect it from environmental harm.

Neroli  Oil

Another great moisturizer for your skin. Neroli oil stimulates new cell growth so it's ideal for scarring and stretch marks. Neroli oil comes from an orange blossom and is grows in Tunisia so it's on the pricey side, however it has very skin toning and brightening properties.

Carrot Oil

Yes, this too is another good moisturizing oil and has been known to dry up facial acne. But because carrot seed oil is rich in beta carotene and vitamin A it helps maintains your skin's elasticity and also reduce the damage due to ultra violet rays.

Homemade Moisturizer that is a favorite of mine

This moisturizer is designed for very dry and sensitive skin.

1. Mix 1/2 cup of bees wax with 1 cup of avocado oil.

2. Warm over low heat until the Beeswax is completely melted.

3. Whisk together well and let cool.

4. Break open 3 vitamin E capsules and add the liquid to the mixture

If you prefer you can also add a few drops of your favorite essential oils for a pleasing scent. I like to add lavender oil, it's my favorite.
