Rosacea and Diet
There are actually several things that you can do to reduce the appearance of Rosacea and diet can play a big part in controlling this
condition.
Foods to eat for Rosacea include things like Berries which can include cherries and blackberries,
these are particularly good foods because they help reduce the size of the blood vessels.
Less blood flowing to your face means less redness so adding a handful of berries to your morning cereal or a
snack in the afternoon can help.
Fresh vegetables and Lean protein are the best foods to eat for rosacea. Stick to chicken and fish as
opposed to red meat.
Rosacea redness can be caused by high calorie carbohydrates like pastas, breads and sugar. For that
reason whole grains should be substituted. Instead of foods made with white flour stick with whole Grain
breads, whole wheat pastas. Seeds are all good foods to eat for rosacea.
You really want to stay away from things like white bread and white flour pasta.
Tofu is good choice for Rosacea and there are lots of great recipes that use tofu, so it's an easy
substitute.
Stay away from spicy foods and alcohol, Other products to avoid include foods that are blood vessel dilatators
such as vinegars, hot sauces and peppers. Some of the biggest culprits are Tomatoes, bananas, and
red plums, raisins, figs, pasta, cheese, and chocolate.
Other very common Rosacea trigger foods that can cause flushing in the face are liver, yogurt, sour cream,
vanilla, soy sauce, yeast extract, eggplant, avocados, spinach, broad-leaf beans and pods, including lima, navy or
peas.
If you're a coffee or tea drinker try switching to juices. Hot beverages can irritate rosacea so it helps to
avoid them as much as possible.
