Eye Care Products and Product Ingredients
You may notice that
the skin around your eyes is much thinner and more delicate than the skin on the rest of your face, in fact
it is five to ten times thinner.
Before you buy any eye care products, first decide
what you want from your eye products. Do you want to reduce eye circles, smooth fine lines or reduce puffiness?
You can certainly get creams that do all of those things but first knowing what you want your
eye product to do helps you target specific problems which will help you get the best overall
results.
A good eye products should be light weight and go on easily, if
it's heavy it can puff up your skin and worse yet, clog your pores, so keep it light ;-)
If you're trying to decide between an eye cream and eye gel or
serum, I would suggest sticking with an eye cream. A rich eye cream offers better moisturizing benefits. The
more moisturized the eye area is, the softer and smoother it looks.
Eye care Product Ingredients
Eye Care product Ingredients such as caffeine, alcohol, retinol,
alpha-hydroxy acids, copper, and vitamin C. Caffeine and alcohol temporarily dehydrate skin, making it appear
taut. Retinol, alpha hydroxy acids, copper, and vitamin C actually work under the skin to stimulate collagen
growth. Because collagen supports the skin from within, stimulating its growth can, over time, firm the skin and
smooth lines and wrinkles.
Ingredients such as vitamin K, kojic acid, and
hydroquinone can help with dark circles under the eyes. Vitamin K has been known to inhibit bruising, and
doctors suspect it helps to counteract dark shadows caused by too much blood flow and minor bruising under
eyes.
Kojic acid and hydroquinone are skin-lightening agents, often found in bleaching
and age-spot creams.
Aim to keep the area around your eyes smooth and soft. Treat the areas of your eyes with care. Never rub excessively and
remove makeup gently.
I still use eye creams at night simply for the
way it makes my eyes feel. A good eye care product will
also soften the skin around my eyes and give a soft
appearance, which is what I
like.
