Hair Care Tips
If you're like most people, especially women,
you love shiny, smooth, silky, thick hair and envy anyone who
has hair with all those qualities, however if you have thin,
wavy, dry or curly hair it's not easy to make your hair behave
the way you want it to.
There are several great products on the market
that can help you obtain thick, smooth, silky hair but it first
starts with having healthy hair. The most beautiful hair
in the world won't look beautiful unless you take good care of
it.
- If you happen to have lifeless, dull or dry
hair and you want to bring life back into your look,
here are a few do it yourself hair care
tips and articles to make even the most unruly,
chemically treated, dull or limp hair come back to
life.
- Try an invigorating head
massage. This is not only good for your hair it is
also relaxing and is an excellent form of stress relief.
Massaging your scalp stimulates it and increases blood
circulation which increases supply of oxygen and glucose to the
brain. It also drives out toxins from the upper body,
reduces muscle tension in the shoulders and neck. It
rejuvenates mind and body & sooths the nervous system.
- Brush your hair often - This
helps pull natural oils through your hair making it shiny and
extremely soft. It also stimulates the scalp helping rejuvenate
the hair follicles which can stimulate growth.
- If you are experiencing hair
loss try drinking a blend of bananas, honey, yogurt
and low-fat milk. This drink is rich in biotin which
will help keep your hair roots firm and strong.
- If you suffer from dandruff
you might be surprised to know that dandruff comes form oily,
not dry scalp. Use a medicated dandruff shampoo or a shampoo
made from tea tree oil, sulfur, salicylic acid and zinc
pyrithione. Try massaging your scalp with table salt to
remove the dandruff flakes then shampoo. After washing
your hair massage your scalp with half a cup of apple cider
vinegar and don't rinse it out.
- If your hair is rough, over
processed, dry and brittle try using conditioners that
are pH balanced, protein enriched, and moisture
restoring. When hair is damaged it's important to use a
good, moisture-rich conditioning treatment every week until it
shows improvement, and to use a light spray-on, leave-in
conditioner daily during styling.
- If your hair is prone to
breakage, you probably have poor elasticity. To
know for sure you may have a hairbrush full of hair each time
you brush it. This means your hair is breaking off a the
ends. The best treatment for breakage is a protein rich
conditioner, and/or a weekly protein treatment, which will add
strength to the hair shaft.
