Oh, those unsightly stretch marks! Most women will get stretch marks somewhere on their bodies during their lifetime, however the
greatest occurance comes after childbirth.
Stretch marks commonly appear on the skin of your breasts, stomach, thighs or buttocks and typically appear because the skin has been
stretched causing tiny tears in the supporting layers of the skin.
The degree of stretch mark severity depends on several things, your genes, ethnicity, the amount of weight you gain and your skin care
habits.
How to get rid of stretch marks
As you lose weight stretch marks can clear on their own but that often mean waiting. If you a bit more anxious than that, you can try
any number of remedies, like the ones listed above or you can try a few other solutions listed below.
Laser surgery is one of the best and easiest treatment for removing stretch marks. This is not as scary as it sounds. It's
actually an out-patient procedure and there's hardly a recovery at all. Probably a bit more expensive than other treatments but certainly the
most effective.
You can also try using creams specially designed to repair the collagen and elastin growth in your skin. While this treatment is convenient,
results are much slower than with stretch marks laser treatment.
To help prevent stretch marks, work to stay well hydrated, drink plenty of water each day, this will help the skin stay healthy and stretch
more. Also use a good skin care body cream to keep the skin moisturized.
