Sun Burn Remedy

The best sunburn advice is to avoid it! Your skin is 20 times more susceptible to skin cancers and melanomas than just a few years ago.  However, if you do get a sunburn here are a few sun burn remedies that might help bring you some much needed relief.

Use a cold compress, don't use ice or butter. If you don't have that, a pack of frozen vegetables will work. Also over the counter pain relievers may also be helpful. Mild and moderate cases may be helped by topical corticosteroids such as hydrocortisone.

 A hot shower immediately after mild sunburn can help you peel sooner helping you get rid of the discomfort sooner. 

 Aveeno oatmeal bath is an excellent sunburn reliever.  Aveeno products can be found at the  Drugstore.com or DermaDoctor . By the way, all Aveeno products are EXCELLENT for your skin.

 Mix 2 teaspoon tomato juice and 4 tablespoon buttermilk and apply on the face. Leave for 1/2 hour, and wash off.

 Vitamin E, one of the antioxidants, can be spread as an ointment on sunburn.

 Make a paste of Barley, turmeric and yogurt in equal proportions. Apply it over the area of sunburns.
